Local Derby Footie. Nothing better than heading down to the local pitches and watching 2 teams battle it out to the bitter end....well maybe if it wasn't constantly raining all the bloody time but then it is Scotland in August
A decent movie that could have been done so much better. The script is a bit weak and focused too much on the docu-soap-drama of the Barret family rather than what should have been the main focus which would be the discovery of California wine by the taster. Of course the fact that the taster was played by Alan Rickman means that every scene he was involved in was great....there is no finer actor than Rickman. 7/10
I think I may have had the shutter speed to high as most of them where underexposed. Was shooting at 1/1000 some times when I should have been at 1/640. Trouble was that the light was constantly changing from bright sunshine where I could get away with it to hdding behind the clouds and I din't adjust the speed
No landscapes or such from me,....dont have the eye for those type of photo's yet although I am practising. Instead it's back to the Shinty. 2 games today, Inverness winning the first one 2-1 over Lochbroom, but getting thumped in the 2nd game 7-3 by local rivals Beauly.
Maybe it's just the timing that was out....what I would do is switch to continuous shooting rather than a single shot as this would allow you to start shooting earlier and follow the kart. Also increases the chance of keepers.
As for 'img1' I would not call that a fail, it's a picture which did not come the way you expected/hoped for, but you know why. I learn more from these types of pics than others....espically if it's something simple that someone suggest that I overlooked
How is the 1000D anyway, I have a brother who is looking to get himeself a DSLR and he asked for advice but I've only used the Sony Alpha's so far.
Look for a postion where you can get them coming out of a turn, even with a small standard kit lens you should still be able to get a decent enough picture which you could crop a bit to give a bigger impression
A few nice shots there, think img9 (yellow kart no 67) out of the set in the dropbox link is the best out of that bunch.
Next time I would be looking to try and get a bit lower down if possible it will give a better overall look to the kart's. Also try and avoid capturing the rear of the kart's (although 'img1' is the exception that proves the rule here) and get more face on photo's. Not only will you get more emphasis on the driver and kart, but if they are wearing a reflective visor you could get some nice reflections, see my set from the LFS kart meet for an example, click my flickr link on sig and chose motorsport.
But back to 'img1', not sure what was too your right as you set up, but I would have been trying to get further right than you got and get some of the apex/entrance of the last turn, he left hand side is a bit cluttered and draws the eye away from the track, which has a nice setup of the kart's following the racing line which should be the focal point of that pick. It could be that there's no way that could happen but for me that's where I would be trying to take it.
Went to watch my work football team play, wasn't pretty thats for sure. Took the camera along and managed to get a few, not sure if these are any good though, I Just feels as if something is "missing" on them...maybe it's just me being picky not sure.
To think I brought you up with the likes of The Smiths, Bruce Springsteen and Nick Cave.......how could you Ach you know I'm joking, if you like the music that's all that matters....
Bad call by iRacing. However it should be turned into a opportunity.
The rev limiter should be optional. Choose to use the rev limiter and sacrifice some power from the engine but safe in the knowledge of an engine that's not going to blow (unless you shift from 5th to 1st) Or chose to disable the rev limiter and use the full grunt of that engine, but run the risk of having a grey cloud follow you at some stage.
You're forgetting a simple, yet a very important factor here.
It's because it was Schumacher who made the pass and because of peoples bias towards him which makes them forget past events, much like last weeks witch-hunt against Ferrari which any other team in the same situation would have done the exact same thing...
...but then I suppose it's just fashionable to be anti Ferrari/Schumacher these days
Thanks, really pleased with what I got to be honest.
I think that would be, there was another person (like yourself, pretty bad with names and i can't remeber who it was) taking photo's but if I mind correctly he was using Nikon????
Anyway my photo's can be seen on my Flickr link inmy sig, will also look to add them to Frankys server thing later on
The Lotus 79 is extremely temperamental. Over rev it and it will blow, flat shift and it will blow in fact you have to work pretty hard to not to blow the engine. It’s so much fun but I’m having to work hard to change my style to suit it.
Finally got round to uploading photo's onto my Flickr account, these can be viewed either by
1) Pics can be viewed directly here,
2) Through my Flickr main page which can be seen in my sig
3) Or through the LFS group page here which also has some pics from last years.
